From Our Family to Yours
Over the years my greatest influences have been my children. From landscaping to at home creations they inspire me in so many ways. The past 3 years have been a transition that have allowed me to spend and capture even more special moments with my family and friends. I'm happy to announce as I shift out of landscaping full time I am now adding my long time passion for photography. My own children change so fast year to year and I'm wanting to preserve some of these precious times and at the same time provide the same service to others.
We will continue making spa packs and bath bombs seasonally, so check out the shop tab to order these or other products we create. Thru the spring, summer, and fall I am focusing on children and family photo sessions outdoors along with special holiday mini sessions. In the winter we will focus on our indoor family crafts and mostly be selling them for the holiday season.

Services Offered
I am most passionate about Lifestyle Family and Portrait Photography. That of course includes our fur babies. As a horticulturist I love to incorporate live floral crowns or flower bouquets. I also enjoy urban settings to mix it up, but I try to photograph in nature as much as possible.

I love mini sessions and keep a Pinterest page so I can let people choose a theme or posing they find matches their lifestyle. If anyone has posing ideas or a specific mini sessions they like feel free to let me know and I will do my best to make it happen.
In order to get to know better you before your session, you'll receive a questionnaire to fill out. It will also include my contract to be signed before the photoshoot.

I provide edited digital images and recommend using Timmy's Treehouse Print Studio in Omaha for printing. You can order these yourself after downloading your digital album or for an additional fee of $25 I can help you set up an account and load your first album.
I do allow my photos to be edited after they are delivered as I also feel sometimes editing styles conflict and people should be able to edit their own photos however they like. I also do not watermark my delivered photos. It's just my personal choice. I however do not provide the RAW files or unedited photos. I deliver thru Pixieset, but will add photos to a portable hard drive if requested. As the files are generally large, I recommend at least a 1TB drive.

Family Portraits
For family sessions we can choose from a variety of places. Whatever is the best fit for your family lifestyle. I love the Henry Doorly Zoo grounds, local parks and lakes and of course Downtown Omaha for a more urban setting. I can also do at home locations. I have a list of locations I use at different times of day and seasons that you can choose from but if there is a special location preferred feel free to ask.
I like to get photos of everyone together, the kids together, each parent with each child and individually. For extended families or families over 5 I aim for similar sets so the pricing is a bit higher and the sessions will run a little longer.
Grandparents Sessions
Grandparents Day is an official national holiday! Signed by President Carter in 1978 and celebrated on the first Sunday after Labor Day. What better tradition or gift to celebrate that special connection between grandparents and their grandkids. My son is so very attached to his grandma. Being able to capture lifelong memories for him means so much. Its so amazing to see grandparents with their grandkids and I feel these are the ones we really treasure most.

Mother's and Father's Day Sessions
I'm rather obsessed with mother/father daughter and mother/father son portraits. I feel family portraits are important but also feel a special photo shoot with each child and parent is an absolute must. I have two amazing kiddos. Often times though its a battle between the two, as with so many families, on having time with me alone. I love to bond as a family but also know it's important to bond as individuals. As a mother I could honestly say the thing I would want most for Mother's Day would be an individual portrait with each of my kids. They change so much year to year so to have that special moment to see and celebrate is truly magical.
Holiday Sessions
Holiday portraits are also a favorite. I offer in home sessions which can mean anything from decorating trees or making cookies to a cozy pajama and cocoa shoot. I will also offer a different mini-session setup each year. I love storytime and hot cocoa stands for the little ones.
Senior Sessions
Graduation is a time to be remembered and definitely celebrated!
It is a major milestone in your life and its important to really capture who you are and what makes you special. We can use any props, unlimited outfits, or pets. Really anything that helps show who you are.
Special Occasions
Life is full of memorable moments aside from the month to month holidays. From birthdays to back to school. Whatever it may be, specialty sessions are for sure a favorite.
Special Talent
Everyone has something that make them unique. Sometimes its a special talent like ballet or sports. Sometimes its a special blanket they carried for years. I love capturing those moments that make us look back at what makes each of us uniquely us.
FurBabies and Pets
Pets are a special part of our family. I invite them to join pretty much any type of session. The most popular are Family, Senior and Holiday sessions. Also can be included in Maternity, Engagement or Baby Announcements. For Pets alone there are First Year, Legacy or Senior, and Birthday/Adoptiversary.
My Photography Journey
I have always had a love for photography or simply capturing memories. Even with digital media now I still love printing my photos and keeping albums of each year. In 2020 I made the leap to quit landscaping. Of course with Covid it was an interesting year to change my business but it gave me more time to study the fundamentals that make a great photograph: light, shadows, composition, and emotion.

It took awhile to find my editing style as I hadn't realized how many photos these days are either composites or edited heavily. So on top of learning the foundation concepts of photography itself, I am also learning how to create and edit. I will admit, with being a landscaper for so many years, this is my biggest obstacle. I have been on my computer more this past year than I had been in the past 10. That is also why I have no issues with providing the RAW photos so people can edit how they choose.

I will say I love "storytelling" or lifestyle photos the most. Unposed, candid, casual, relaxed and informal are my favorite types of photos. Photographic storytelling is defined as the art of conveying stories, ideas and viewpoints through the medium of photography. It is a great example of how photography is not just the practice of creating visually interesting or stunning pictures, but is about telling stories, real or fantasized. Children are by far my favorite. I did a session of my daughter reading her Harry Potter book one day and as I look back it is such a defining moment in her character and personality I'm so proud and grateful to have captured it. My son picking up feathers or my daughter practicing ballet. Posed photos are wonderful sometimes too, but the moments that really show a persons individuality hold a special place in my heart.
